Energy cooperation holds an important place in relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said following a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen in Jerusalem, Report informs.
“Azerbaijani oil makes up about 30% of the oil consumed by Israel. Israel also exports a significant amount of oil products from Azerbaijan,” he said.
He noted that today Azerbaijan is working on the transition to an economy based on sustainable, renewable energy.
“Renewable energy sources will give a significant impetus to our efforts to grow the economy. In this light, there is great potential for Israel to bring its best practices and technologies to Azerbaijan,” he said, adding that Azerbaijan is very interested in attracting new technologies, innovations, intellectual property and investments based on artificial intelligence from Israel.
