The US government will continue providing Ukraine with air defense systems, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has told reporters, commenting on the situation in Dnepropetrovsk.
"The United States will continue to provide Ukraine with what it needs to defend itself. That is incredibly important. That is a promise that the [US] President made to [Ukrainian] President [Vladimir] Zelensky when he was here not too long ago. And that’s including air defense system," she said.
"We will continue our work to hold Russians’ forces accountable," she added.
On the evening of January 14, Zelensky’s top aide Alexey Arestovich said that part of a residential building in Dnepropetrovsk had collapsed because a projectile shot down by Ukrainian air defenses fell on it. Following this, he was sharply criticized by Ukrainian society. On Tuesday, Arestovich announced that he was stepping down.
