US highly appreciates Turkiye's constructive role in ending Russia-Ukraine war

The United States highly appreciates Turkiye's constructive role in ending the Russian-Ukrainian war, Ned Price, spokesperson of the US State Department, said at a briefing, SİA informs.

"Turkiye is using its relations with Russia and Ukraine to bring peace," Price said.

At a daily press conference, when asked about Turkiye's role in achieving peace between Russia and Ukraine, he replied with the following words: "We highly appreciate Turkiye's constructive role in its efforts to end this barbaric war. The United States appreciates Turkiye's firm commitment to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and its efforts to establish a dialogue between Ukraine and Russia".

Noting that Ankara has been a "constructive player" since the beginning of the war, Price added: "Turkiye has been a constructive player since the beginning. It is trying to develop dialogue and constructive diplomacy."

The spokesperson noted that President Erdogan is holding telephone conversations with Presidents Putin and Zelenskyy. Price recalled Turkiye's unique role in signing the "grain agreement" with the participation of UN Secretary-General Guterres.

"Without Turkiye, this agreement could not work. The extension of the 'grain agreement' results from Turkey's special role, thanks to which countries in need receive food from Ukraine. Turkiye, using its NATO status, authority in the international community, and close relations with Ukraine and Russia, is trying to achieve an end to the war and the establishment of peace," Ned Price emphasized.
