“Of course, the occupation of our lands aggravated our situation. The occupation of Shusha and Lachin in May 1992, was a big tragedy in terms of both moral and military-strategical points of view. Because in this way, the geographical connection between the territory called "Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Province" and Armenia was ensured,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in his speech at the event held on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of New Azerbaijan Party, SİA reports.
“Everyone saw very well that if the works continued like this, the occupation of Kalbajar would also be inevitable. Unfortunately, that happened. I.e. Kalbajar was occupied in April 1993 and most of our territory was out of control,” he noted.
