Azerbaijani FM received credentials of incoming ambassador of Libya

On November 18, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the newly appointed ambassador of the Libyan State to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Salem Naser.

Accepting the copy of Ambassador Ali Salem Naser's credentials, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his future activities.

Speaking about the historical, religious and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Libya, the minister emphasized the high level of political dialogue between the two countries. In this regard, both bilateral and international organizations, especially the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement, expressed satisfaction with the mutual support and cooperation.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the Ambassador about Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan and the bitter consequences of the nearly 30-year-long occupation, the 44-day Patriotic War, the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories, and the process of the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to the region.

The ambassador thanked Minister Jeyhun Bayramov for the reception and conveyed to him the greetings of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the State of Libya. Ambassador Ali Salem Naser, expressing his satisfaction to be working in Azerbaijan, stated that during his activity, Azerbaijan will spare no effort to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation relations between Libya, either bilaterally or within the framework of international organizations.

The sides exchanged views on the possibilities of future cooperation between the two countries and the great potentials in this direction.
