On November 17, 2022, an event and exhibition was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the staff of the embassy.
The event began with the singing of the national anthems of both countries.
Later, the foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged letters addressed to each other on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Speaking at the event, Khalaf Khalafov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, said that relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are based on historical roots and traditions of friendship, and that relations have developed dynamically in many directions in the last 30 years. The deputy minister emphasized that there are multidimensional strategic partnership relations between the two countries in political, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian and other fields. Khalafov noted with satisfaction that the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to Georgia in October 2022 gave a special impetus to the development of bilateral political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations between our countries. In the end, the deputy minister conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of the significant day and wished peace, tranquility and prosperity to both nations.
Speaking later, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zurab Pataradze, proudly noted the achievements in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia for 30 years, and congratulated the event participants on this significant date. The ambassador noted with satisfaction the high-quality cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in many areas. At the same time, the ambassador referred to the signing of more than a hundred documents covering various fields between the two countries, and especially emphasized the expansion of cooperation in the economic field.
At the end of the event, the participants got acquainted with the photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
