Egypt reports first case of monkeypox

The first case of infection with the monkeypox virus was recorded in Egypt.

According to SIA, this was stated in the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Health of Egypt. It was mentioned in the statement that the Egyptian infected with the virus was quarantined. The condition of the 42-year-old Egyptian citizen infected with the virus was reported to be stable.

Monkeypox is a rare viral disease, mainly transmitted from wild animals to humans. Its symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and back pain, chills and fatigue. Skin rashes also appear on the face and other parts of the body.
