According to him, relevant organ dysfunction occurs in people who have experienced thrombosis: "In addition, heart failure can be observed in patients with myocardial infarction, respiratory failure and increased pulmonary hypertension in patients with pulmonary embolism. People with ischemic brain stroke have difficulties performing mental and physical work."
The expert emphasized that people with hematological cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, who are receiving active treatment or who have just completed their treatment, may be more severely affected by COVID-19 than others: "Those who are immunocompromised or are receiving treatment for cancer, as well as family members who live with them, should more carefully follow the recommended measures to reduce the risk of transmission of respiratory tract infections. In addition, the consequences of directly stopping the medication without a doctor's supervision can be riskier for the patient. For this reason, we recommend patients contact their doctor before any medication change."
