Phase 3 trials of the Turkovac vaccine are intended for use as a booster dose only. Of course, after success, it will be presented to our citizens as an option.
The statement came from Health Minister Teymur Musayev, SIA reports.
He noted that the third phase of Turkovac, a Turkish coronavirus vaccine, is currently being tested in Azerbaijan.
"According to the agreement, the tests are being held at the Baku Health Center. There are those who apply to volunteer. The general results will be presented to the Turkish experts after the results are obtained. After that, an official statement will be made to the public. "
The Minister said that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to launch a vaccination campaign during the pandemic.
"Both Azerbaijani citizens and foreigners with permanent and temporary residence permits in our country have access to vaccines prepared on all platforms. "The use of the inactivated platform "Coronovac", mRnt "Pfizer", as well as the vector platform "Astra Zeneca" and "Sputnik" has been successfully implemented," he added.
