At the Central Customs Hospital, a Training Dedicated to “World Hand Hygiene Day” Was Held
On May 6, 2026, an awareness-raising training dedicated to “World Hand Hygiene Day” was held at the Central Customs Hospital, organized by the Scientific-Practical Training Center of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee.
The training was attended by Deputy Head of the Central Customs Hospital Nabil Seyidov, Chairperson of the Infection Control Commission and infectious disease specialist Madina Abdullayeva, as well as the hospital’s physicians, residents, and nurses.
During the training, Chairperson of the Infection Control Commission and infectious disease specialist Madina Abdullayeva noted that healthcare-associated infections remain one of the pressing issues of modern healthcare systems. It was emphasized that such infections not only negatively affect the treatment process of patients, but also lead to prolonged hospitalization periods, the need for additional medical interventions, and more intensive use of healthcare resources.
It was highlighted that strengthening infection control measures in healthcare institutions, especially adherence to hand hygiene rules, is considered one of the main and most effective methods for preventing hospital-acquired infections. In this regard, improving the knowledge and skills of healthcare workers, as well as organizing regular awareness initiatives, is of particular importance.
During the training, presentation materials related to the topic were demonstrated, practical recommendations on proper hand hygiene practices were provided, a video presentation was shown, and participants’ questions were answered.
It should be noted that the regular organization of such awareness-raising events at the Central Customs Hospital contributes to improving the quality of healthcare services, ensuring patient safety, and increasing effectiveness in the field of infection control.
