The Deputy Head of the Medical Service of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, PhD in Medicine, Associate Professor Ismayil Efendiyev, Deputy Director of the Central Customs Gospital, PhD Nabil Seyidov, interventional cardiologists of the Cardiology Department — Dr. Emin Hajiyev and Dr. Emin Allahverdiyev — along with resident doctors, attended the Congress “Cardiometabolic and Rare Diseases” held on February 20–21, 2026, jointly organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, TƏBİB, the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, and the Azerbaijan Cardiology Society. During the congress, scientific presentations were delivered on cardiometabolic syndrome, cardiovascular diseases, the impact of diabetes on the cardiovascular system, rare genetic pathologies, early diagnosis, and modern treatment approaches. Doctors from the Central Customs Gospital participated in panel discussions, shared their clinical experience, and emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and patient-centered treatment strategies.
The event also featured extensive discussions on early detection of cardiometabolic risk factors, innovative methods for diagnosing rare diseases, invasive and non-invasive treatment approaches, and strengthening preventive measures.
