Scientific and Educational Training on “The Rectum and Its Diseases” Held at the Central Customs Hospital

On January 28, 2026, a scientific and educational training session titled “The Rectum and Its Diseases” was held at the Central Customs Hospital and conducted by Dr. Aynur Safiyeva, Doctor of Medical Sciences and general surgeon of the Department of General Surgery. The training was attended by physicians from the Aziz Aliyev Azerbaijan State Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors, as well as sixth-year students of the Faculty of Medicine of Nakhchivan State University who are undergoing practical training at the Central Customs Hospital in various departments, including surgery, internal medicine, emergency medical care, and elective disciplines. Within the framework of the scientific and educational program, detailed information was provided on the anatomical and functional characteristics of the rectum, the most common diseases affecting this area, modern diagnostic methods, and current approaches to surgical treatment. In addition, practical clinical cases were discussed, and participants’ questions were answered in detail. In her speech, Dr. Aynur Safiyeva emphasized the significant role of such scientific and educational events in enhancing physicians’ professional knowledge and skills, as well as in strengthening the practical training of young medical professionals.

It should be noted that the scientific and practical trainings regularly organized at the Central Customs Hospital contribute to the expansion of knowledge exchange in the healthcare sector, improvement of the quality of medical services, and training of personnel in line with the requirements of modern medicine.
