A wide range of surgical interventions are performed for children aged 0 to 18 in accordance with modern medical protocols at the Pediatric Surgery Department of the Central Customs Hospital. The main focus of the surgical treatment of neck, chest, abdominal, and congenital urological anomalies.
Advanced endoscopic and radiological diagnostic methods are extensively used within the department. These include endoscopy, gastroscopy, esophagoscopy, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, as well as cystography and radiographic imaging of the intestines and esophagus.
Head of the Pediatric Surgery Department, a member of the European Paediatric Surgeons' Association, pediatric surgeon Vusal Jafarov and pediatric surgeon Dr. Toghrul Piriyev successfully treat rare and complex congenital anomalies such as esophageal atresia, urethral stricture, cloacal malformation, intestinal atresia, omphalocele, and bladder exstrophy using both open and laparoscopic surgical techniques.

We are proud to note that the first successful laparoscopic anti-reflux ureteral surgery in Azerbaijan was performed at the Pediatric Surgery Department of the Central Customs Hospital.
