In January-March 2024, 828 twins and 39 triplets were born in Azerbaijan, SİA informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the Committee, 24,526 newborns across the country were registered by the district (city) registration departments of the Ministry of Justice in the reporting period, and compared to the same period in 2023, this indicator fell from 11.7 to 9.7 per 1,000 people.
Boys accounted for 52.7% and girls for 47.3% of the newborns.
