Pollution of Okchuchay directly affects quality of Araz river water resources - Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General

"I do not remember such a conference between any countries. This is an example of friendship and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Türkiye,” said Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev as he addressed a Cross-border Cooperation Conference of prosecutor's offices of Azerbaijan and Türkiye held in Nakhchivan, APA reports.

The Prosecutor General noted that a number of issues were discussed with his Turkish colleagues during his stay in Nakhchivan.

The most discussed issue is Armenia’s crime in the near border region. The degree of pollution in Araz River is obvious and building a factory over there has brought about an ecological crime. The mister President also addressed this on the Non-Aligned Movement and once again pointed out Armenia’s crimes out loud.

Building this fabric creates huge problems both for Türkiye and Azerbaijan and we have conveyed this as an ecological crime to the international community. Considering Okhchuchay flows into the second largest river of South Caucasus – Araz, polluting it affects the river Araz’s water reserves” Attorney General added.
