On October 22, at about 19:00, on the territory of the border outpost of the Goytepe border detachment of the State Border Service (SBS) near the Samedabad village of the Bilasuvar region, two citizens of Azerbaijan - Valiyeva Maryam Tabriz gizi (born 1994) and Gasimova Ayten Rafig gizi (born 1981) were detained, SİA reports citing press service of SBS.
According to SBS, they tried to illegally cross the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan and cross into the territory of Iran.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the two mentioned women were deported from Türkiye and since their entry to the country was forbidden, they intended to cross the Islamic Republic of Iran and then enter the Republic of Türkiye by violating the state border of Azerbaijan.
