On July 2, 2022, an inspection of the scene and the body was carried out by the employees of the the Sumgayit Military Prosecutor's Office on the basis of the information received about the death of soldier Agamaliyev Nurlan son of Elshan, a military officer of the military unit No.N of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The press service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic told SIA that, according to the Article 342.1-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (the death of the victim or other serious consequences due to negligence,dishonesty or indifferent attitude of a chief or official's failure to perform or properly carry out his duty) the Sumgayit Military Prosecutor's Office has opened a criminal case. Criminal proceedings were initiated and witnesses were interrogated, appropriate expertises were appointed and other necessary investigative actions were carried out by the experts.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing and all measures will be taken in accordance with the requirements of the law.
