The head of the "cənub. az" website operating in Azerbaijan has been detained.
The Interior Ministry told SIA that the head of the news portal, Zahir Amanov, was detained on the complaint of Israfil Aliyev, the Sigdash village executive representative of the Masalli District Executive Power. He is accused of extorting money from the executive representative.
A criminal case has been launched under Article 182.1 (extortion) of the Criminal Code by the Masalli District Police Department.
