Officers of the Salyan District Police Department continue operations against those involved in the sale and illicit trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to the Shirvan regional group of the Interior Ministry's Press Service, Baku resident Radim Jafarov was detained in the region during the operation.
During the search of the person, about 4 kilograms of heroin and 400 grams of methamphetamine, a psychotropic substance, were found and seized.
During the investigation, it was established that the detainee had recently contacted a citizen of a foreign country and asked him for drugs in order to sell them. Later, he was told where the drugs were hidden in the Salyan region, and Jafarov came to the region to take these substances. He was detained by Salyan police while taking the items from his hiding place.
During the interrogation, the man confessed to engaging in illegal activities. A criminal case was opened at the Salyan Police Department, and the detainee was remanded in custody.
