The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to fulfill its responsibilities, including the protection of the population and territories from natural and man-made emergencies.
Thus, on the basis of calls received by the "112" hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the relevant agencies of the Ministry carried out rescue operations on 26 fires, 4 cases of helplessness and 1 suicide attempt.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations told SIA that as a result of dire and urgent measures, fires were extinguished and people's lives were saved.
In total, 4 people, including 2 minors, were rescued by the Ministry of Emergency Situations over the past day, including 1 person who tried to commit suicide by throwing himself into the sea in the Khazar district of Baku, and 1 person who was burnt. Also, the bodies of two people were found behind closed doors in Narimanov and Surakhani districts of Baku and were handed over to the authorities.
