The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) continues to clear explosive devices on the part of the Horadiz-Aghband highway passing through the Jabrayil district.
SİA informs that the abovementioned highway is a part of the project Zangazur corridor.
The mine clearance activities are carried out by ANAMA and Defense Ministry.
The Agency told Report that the operations, which began on August 31, are being carried out along the former contact line in a heavily polluted area. It is planned to clear the 22nd to 36th km of the highway. 6 km or 190 hectares have been completely cleared of mines and unexploded ordnances.
The Agency neutralized 752 mines and unexploded ordnances, including 396 anti-personnel mines, 25 anti-tank mines, and 331 unexploded ordnance. The mine clearance activities on the project of the Defense Ministry started on June 1, 2021, and 552 hectares have been cleared so far.
