Two members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in a shootout in the city of Paveh, located in Kermanshah Province in western Iran.
According to SİA, the IRGC's statement was broadcast by Iran's state broadcaster IRIB.
The incident occurred overnight into Tuesday, when armed attackers opened fire, killing two IRGC personnel and injuring two others. The IRGC described the incident as a terrorist attack.
The circumstances surrounding the attack are under investigation.
