The 7th Meeting of the Ministers and Senior Officials in charge of Media and Information of the OTS was held in Baku.
At the meeting, Ahmed Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Ömer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS); Kanat Iskakov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Maksat Mamytkanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan; Ferhat Pirinççi, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration; Kobuljon Akhmedov, Director of the Content Production Center for Mass Media under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; as well as Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, an observer member of the Organization, delivered speeches.During his speech, Ahmed Ismayilov emphasized that expanding information exchange and jointly combating fake news and hybrid threats are among the main goals of this cooperation.
Ömer Kocaman, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, stated that the Organization implements projects in more than 55 areas and has already become a regional actor.
In his speech, Maksat Mamytkanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan, noted that the creation of a unified system in the media field is one of the main ways to protect against threats in the information sphere.
Kanat Iskakov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his speech proposed the broadcasting of the televisions of OTS member states in each other’s territories.
At the end, a Communiqué was adopted on the outcomes of the 7th Meeting of the Ministers and Senior Officials in charge of Media and Information of the OTS, as well as the 12th meeting of the Working Group on Media and Information of the Organization.
At the same time, it was announced that the 8th meeting of the ministers and high-ranking officials responsible for media and information of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as the 13th meeting of the Working Group on Media and Information, will be held in Kazakhstan.
