Azerbaijan prevents attempt to smuggle large amount of drug-containing pills from Iran via UAV
The smuggling of narcotic-containing pills into the country has been prevented, the Press Center of the State Border Service told SİA.
Measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border and to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are being successfully continued.
On October 13, as a result of border search and operational measures conducted in the service area of the “Horadiz” border detachment of the State Border Service’s Border Troops Command, the smuggling of a large quantity of narcotic substances into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Islamic Republic of Iran via an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was prevented.
As a result of the search operations, 980 narcotic-containing Metadon M-40 pills were discovered and seized from the border area.
Operational-investigative measures are ongoing regarding the incident.
