Azerbaijani territories were subjected to ecological terrorism during the occupation, with parts of natural monuments and forest areas destroyed by Armenians, Vugar Karimov, Head of the Working Group on Environmental Issues, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, said at a regular meeting of the working group.
Report quotes him as saying the monitoring conducted after the liberation of the territories showed that 54,000 hectares of forest were destroyed during the occupation.
"After liberation, 300 hectares were restored in 2024. Currently, restoration work is underway on 240 hectares," he stated.
