As a result of border search and operational measures carried out to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and to combat illegal migration, 2 border violators have been detained, SİA reports citing the Press Center of the State Border Service.
On May 7, in the service area of the "Lankaran" border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service a citizen of the Republic of Yemen – Baidaha Moqbel Abdulrazzaq, born in 1986, and on May 9, in the service area of the "Zagatala" border detachment, a citizen of the Kingdom of Morocco – Touijar Mohamed, born in 1990, were detained while attempting to violate the state border.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the detained individuals intended to illegally migrate to European countries through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan in transit.
Operational-investigative measures regarding the facts are ongoing.
