Azerbaijan reveals countries where its citizens became victims of human trafficking
A total of 91 (fixed) human trafficking victims (90 women, 1 man) identified in criminal cases related to human trafficking and forced labor were all citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, SİA reports.
This is reflected in the Annual Report of the National Coordinator on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (2024), which was discussed at a joint meeting of Human Rights Committee, Committee of Law Policy and State-Building of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).
Of them, 53 were in the Republic of Türkiye, 35 in the United Arab Emirates, 2 in the State of Qatar for sexual exploitation, and 1 was subjected to labor exploitation within the country.
12 of the victims were aged 18-25, 49 were aged 25-35, and 29 were over 35 years old and 19 were from the capital, and 72 were from other cities and districts of the country, 78 were exploited between 2015-2023, and 13 were exploited in 2024.
