The State Security Service (SSS) has detained and brought to Azerbaijan a man accused of terrorism.
According to SİA, a court session was held in the Sabail District Court of Baku to consider a request for pre-trial detention of Ruslan Najimov Rafig oglu, a citizen of Azerbaijan who was apprehended as part of a criminal case under investigation by the SSS.
The investigation revealed that Ruslan Najimov, born in 1987, was suspected of committing terrorist-related crimes as part of an armed group. He had been hiding in a foreign country under various aliases.
As a result of complex operational and investigative activities by the SSS, Najimov was detained abroad and extradited to Azerbaijan on April 15.
By court decision, a 4-month pre-trial detention was imposed on Najimov as a preventive measure.
