Israel carries out airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburb of Hadath

Israeli Air Force warplanes have targeted facilities belonging to the Shia organization Hezbollah in the Lebanese capital’s southern suburb of Hadath.

According to a TASS correspondent, two airstrikes were conducted on ground targets; no casualties have been reported so far.

A local civil defense official told TASS that fire brigades and rescue teams had arrived at the site. "Work has begun to clear the rubble," he noted. "The residents of the districts that came under attack had been evacuated beforehand," the official added.

This was Israel’s first air attack on Beirut after the signing of a ceasefire agreement on November 27, 2024. Earlier, Israeli drones conducted preemptive strikes on three buildings in the Hadath suburb, causing panic among local residents. The authorities decided to carry out an emergency evacuation of school students from the area.

According to Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee, the air raid on the Lebanese capital came in response to the launch of two projectiles towards settlements in northern Israel. He specified that the Israeli Air Force had attacked a Hezbollah drone storage site in the southern suburb of Beirut.
