"We have seen some European politicians label violence as peace. If this is peace, let it happen in their capitals every day," the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists.
"They can turn on Georgian television, it's accessible to them too. They can watch the videos and see what happened on Rustaveli Avenue, and how police officers were attacked live. Do you know that 140 police officers were injured during this time?
Stones, Molotov cocktails, and pyrotechnics were thrown at people, including a cameraman from the First Channel - it's shameful that Europeans call all of this peaceful and a nonviolent demonstration. This once again proves how some foreign actors are running away from reality and how some want and do anything to take away the Georgian people's own choice," Papuashvili said.
