“Both the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have immediately fulfilled all the tasks assigned to them in connection with the incident,” said Kamran Aliyev, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan in his statement to journalists, SİA reports.
He said that, according to the primary assumptions, the fire is of electrical origin:
“There were electrical devices. The neonatal incubators work with electric. We assume that, there were some failures in their connection, use, operation. Generally, we see the primary signs of fire safety violations.
As for the cause of death of babies, whether they died from burns or suffocation will be known after the forensic examination. According to the primary observations, babies suffer from burns. But whether they died from fire or suffocation will be known after the examination."
