Grandfather of the Israeli soldier, who was killed in the battle with Hamas, had been martyred in Garabagh
The Israeli embassy shared about an Israeli citizen of Azerbaijani origin who was killed in the battle with Hamas, the Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan shared about this on the "X" account, APA reports.
"As the Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan, we are deeply saddened by the death of 20-year-old sergeant Lior Azizov of Azerbaijani origin during military operations against Hamas on October 7. Lior was a fighter of the Golani brigade. Lior's father, Timur, was a victim of a terrorist attack in Israel in 2005 and died of physical and mental injuries 5 years later. His grandfather Vahid Azizov died heroically during the First Karabakh War in 1992 and was buried in the Alley of Martyrs. We mourn with infinite sorrow the pain and loss of one family for three generations. Lior's mother Nathalie remembers him like this: He was a smart, sensitive child who wanted to be a doctor and an artist. Our first conversation with him was on Saturday, the first day of the war. He said that "there is a shooting going on here, but I'm fine, don't worry. Mother, I will call again, I promise, and I love you." And this was the last call from him. May the souls of Lior and other members of the Azizov family who have passed away rest in peace," said the post.
