Seven dead due to flash floods, landslides in northern Vietnam

Heavy downpours have caused flash floods and landslides in northern provinces, killing seven people as of August 6, SİA informs, referring to the local press.

Four deaths were recorded in the province of Lai Chau, two in Yen Bai, and one in Son La, according to local officials. At least three people were injured.

Lai Chau saw heavy rains of over 100 mm in some areas on August 4 and 5.

Roads have been split due to landslides and authorities are having trouble accessing some localities.

At least eight houses have been damaged and 28 households have been forced to evacuate.
