The State Security Service (SSS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues operational-investigative measures in the direction of combating terrorist sabotage and intelligence-disruptive activities directed against the national security and state interests of our country, Azerbaijan's SSS told SİA.
As a result of the conducted investigations, Fawzan Mosa Khan, a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, born in 1990, conspired with other persons in advance to disrupt public stability in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, create panic among the population, influence decision-making by state authorities and international organizations. planning to commit a terrorist act that will be accompanied by an explosion, fire, or other similar events, will result in the death of people, damage to their health, significant property damage, and the occurrence of other socially dangerous situations.
It was revealed that the mentioned foreigner came to the Republic of Azerbaijan from a foreign country with the intention of committing the mentioned criminal acts, during his stay in Baku city, he observed the embassy building in order to determine the coordinates of the territory where the embassy of the third country is located in our country and to plan the terrorist act, identifying the persons who may participate in the terrorist act and involved in this activity, obtained firearms and explosives, contacted other persons and made a deal to receive financial support for these purposes.
In connection with the fact, Fawzan Musa Khan, in the main investigation department of the State Security Service, under Articles 28, 214.2.1 and 28, 214.2.3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (preparation for the commission of terrorist acts by using firearms and objects used as weapons in the case of a group of previously colluding persons) was held in the act of committing a crime and brought to responsibility as an accused person and a pretrial detention measure was chosen for him by the court's decision.
At present, complex investigative-operational and international legal procedural measures are being carried out by the State Security Service in order to fully determine the circle of persons who planned the terrorist act.
