In the territory of the border districts of Azerbaijan with the Russian Federation, a complex operation-search and preventive measures have been started under the conditional name of "Border-Shield", SİA reports.
Operations are carried out according to the mutual agreement reached between the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.
The main purpose of the operations consists of the implementation of the decisions made on the issues of cross-border cooperation, the exposure and neutralization of members of transnational organized criminal groups and terrorist organizations, the disposal of weapons, explosives and devices, drugs, as well as the implementation of complex organizational and practical measures in the field of determining and preventing the channels of financial and material resources directed to the implementation of other illegal acts.
Complex operation-search and preventive measures under the conditional name of "Border-Shield" will last for a week.
