A total of 14 people involved in illegal drug trafficking were detained as a result of the operations carried out by the Yasamal District Police Department's Anti-Narcotics Department, as well as regional departments and units since the beginning of the year, SIA reports.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a large amount of heroin - about 7 kilograms, as well as other types of narcotics and psychotropic substance methamphetamine - was removed from illegal circulation.
Three of those detained - Elnur Huseynov, his acquaintance Rahman Huseynov and Emil Aliyev were among the main people selling drugs in Yasamal district. The detainees said that they obtained the drugs by establishing contact with drug dealers living in foreign countries through social networks.
The investigation department of the district police department continues to look into the discovered facts. Operational measures are being continued to arrest other members of the drug network to which these persons belong.
