An investigation was conducted in the district prosecutor's office on the application of illegal mining in the "Hajigasimli" (Kamalli-III) sand deposit located in the territory of Saatli district, SIA refers to local media.
According to the district prosecutor's office, the investigations revealed reasonable suspicions that damages in the amount of 551 thousand 800 manats were caused as a result of sand mining in a 2.19-hectare area outside the properly allocated exploitation area by the private entrepreneur Rasif Mammadov, a resident of Baku.
A criminal case was initiated in the Saatli district prosecutor's office under articles 188.1 (violation of the right to ownership, use or lease of land), 255.1 (violation of the rules of protection and use of the subsoil) and 308.1 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code.
At present, the preliminary investigation of the case is ongoing.
