The book "Religious Sociology" by Asaf Ganbarov, a professor of sociology at Azerbaijan Institute of theology, was published with the support of the Spiritual Values Promotion Fund under the auspices of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations. The author of the book A. Ganbarov said in his “Foreword” that the lack of studies in the Azerbaijani language on religious sociology and works are the main reasons of this work SIA reports.
The author said that the book will give an overview of the sociology of religion, will increase the interest of researchers in this area, and will contribute to the enrichment of scientific literature in the field of religious studies.
The book consists of three parts: Introduction to Sociology, Religion Sociology as Science, and Basic Principles of Sociological Concept of Religion.
Azerbaijan Institute of Theology implements a number of projects related to the publication of books. At the same time, one of the goals of the Institute is to investigate problems in theology.
