UNEC has achieved another success in an international ranking.
According to the results of the World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026, released by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), one of the world’s most prestigious ranking agencies, UNEC is ranked 726th globally, 221st in Asia, and first in Azerbaijan.
The ranking includes 2,001 universities from 108 countries. The evaluation is based on three main dimensions: Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance. UNEC ranked first in Azerbaijan in all three dimensions, becoming the country’s highest performing higher education institution in the field of sustainability.
Under the Environmental Impact indicator, UNEC is ranked 563rd globally, 175th in Asia, and first in Azerbaijan. Under the Environmental Sustainability sub indicator, UNEC is placed 309th globally, outperforming many leading universities in the region.
In the Environmental Education indicator, UNEC is ranked 586th globally. Under Employability and Opportunities, UNEC is ranked 714th globally. Under the Governance indicator, UNEC is ranked 615th globally, 198th in Asia, 29th in Western Asia, and remains the leading university in Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that UNEC has achieved several significant successes in international rankings this year.
UNEC was included for the first time in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, where it ranked first in Azerbaijan, first in the South Caucasus, and within the 801 to 1000 band globally. UNEC is the only university in Azerbaijan included among the world’s top one thousand universities in the THE ranking, and one of only twenty universities from the Turkic world to appear in this tier.
In the QS World University Rankings 2026, UNEC was ranked among the 801 to 850 best universities in the world.
In the QS International Trade Rankings MBA 2026, UNEC ranked first in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus region, and 56th globally.
In addition, for the first time, UNEC was ranked in the QS MBA Rankings 2026, placing 201 to 250 globally, 70 in Europe, and first in Azerbaijan.
