Minister: Ensuring girls' education is among long-term goals of Azerbaijan
Ensuring girls' education is a long-term objective in Azerbaijan, said Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Report informs.
He made the remark at the Girls' Right to Education conference—held within the framework of the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty in collaboration with the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children's Issues and Baku State University.
Amrullayev noted that the outcomes of efforts in the field of education typically become visible after at least 20 years. He explained that, for instance, a girl who does not receive an education today might become a mother in 10-15 years, and her child would enter the labor market in the next 20 years. The impact of current actions or inactions becomes evident approximately 35 years later.
The minister highlighted the significance of girls' access to quality education, stating that it is a crucial factor. Furthermore, Amrullayev emphasized the necessity of understanding the threats and dangers faced by Azerbaijani women and girls to address them effectively.
