Young specialists working in the agricultural field to undergo an internship in Israel

The selection round for participation in the internship program announced by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Israel's Arava International Agricultural Training Center (AICAT) for young specialists operating in the agricultural field has ended. According to information provided to SIA by the press service of KTN, 50 people who successfully passed the exams on the basis of two-stage selection will have the opportunity to practice in the Arava region of Israel.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sarvan Jafarov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Azerbaijan George Dick met with the participants of the internship program. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sarvan Jafarov congratulated the program participants and wished them success. The deputy minister said that the formation of a competitive agricultural sector in our country, adaptation of agricultural knowledge and skills to the requirements of the labor market are among the priority directions. It was noted that the knowledge and skills that the participants of the internship program will gain in Israel will also contribute to the development of science and knowledge-based production and service areas, and increase productivity and competitiveness.

George Dick, Israel's ambassador to Azerbaijan, for his part, emphasized that the relations between the two countries are at a high level, and that there is great potential for developing mutual cooperation. The ambassador added that the new internship program provides important opportunities to share best practices in the field of agriculture and further develop existing partnerships.

Later, Azerbaijan State Agrarian University and Israel's Arava International Agricultural Training Center (AICAT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding 50 young Azerbaijanis, including students and specialists working in the agricultural field, to undergo an internship and study in Israel in the field of agriculture. According to the document, the students will spend an academic year in the Arava region of Israel, where they will learn the most advanced knowledge and skills in the field of agriculture and apply them in Azerbaijan upon their return.

The duration of the internship program announced by AICAT is 11 months. Within the framework of the program, young specialists will have the opportunity to practice in Israeli farms for 10 months. In addition, program participants will be able to participate in academic trainings in both agricultural and economic fields for a period of 1 month.

The internship program will run from August 2022 to July 2023.
