Baku–Balakan passenger train service to be temporarily suspended starting August
The Baku–Balakan passenger train service will operate only as far as the Gakh station and back until August 1, after which the route will be temporarily suspended starting next month, according to Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), SİA informs.
The service disruption was caused by damage to the railway infrastructure along the Gakh–Balakan section, resulting from unstable weather conditions in the Gakh, Zagatala, and Balakan districts. Recovery works are currently underway to repair the damage caused by the natural disaster.
Passengers who have already purchased tickets for this route for travel dates between August 1 and August 13 will receive a full refund.
