Presidential Aide: Over $410M to be invested in Azerbaijan's agricultural sector
Around 700 million manats (approximately $411.8 million) are expected to be invested in the development of Azerbaijan's agricultural sector, according to Zeynal Naghdaliyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Department for Territorial and Organizational Issues of the Presidential Administration, Report informs.
Speaking at a meeting on cotton-growing in Sabirabad, held as part of discussions on the State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in Azerbaijan for 2026–2030, Naghdaliyev said the investment estimate is based on initiatives in crop production, livestock, fruit-growing, poultry, fisheries, potato and rice cultivation, and processing industries.
He noted that, by presidential instruction, broad discussions on the draft program have been underway since June 12 across 13 economic regions. "A total of 4,565 people have taken part, including 350 representatives of central executive bodies, 3,608 heads of large farms, agroparks, and processing enterprises, as well as 607 representatives of local structures," Naghdaliyev stated.
He added that during these discussions, 51 farm and agropark leaders put forward 72 initiatives in total.
