Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee has uncovered a case of bribery and bribe-taking involving representatives of the Prosperous Armenia Party, SİA informs referring to Armenpress.
According to the investigation, it was established that party representatives in the village of Gogaran in the Spitak community of the Lori region, as well as in neighboring villages, offered voters cash rewards for voting for the party in the National Assembly elections and for recruiting new supporters.
The Armenian Anti-Corruption Committee has opened a criminal investigation into the incident. Several individuals have been detained, and procedural measures have been taken against others.
Gagik Tsarukyan is the chairman of the Prosperous Armenia Party. The party placed fourth in the parliamentary elections on June 7, receiving approximately 4%. This result was insufficient for the party's representatives to enter the new parliament.
