Mikayil Jabbarov: Azerbaijan strengthening its position as key regional transit hub
Azerbaijan is expanding its role as a key connectivity and transit hub, Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said during the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group in Baku.
Report quotes him as saying Azerbaijan's investment landscape is shaped by three strategic advantages: connectivity (transport and coordination), green energy, and digital readiness.
"Azerbaijan serves as an important hub in international transport corridors and is consistently strengthening its role in facilitating connectivity between East and West, particularly within the framework of the Middle Corridor. As a natural gateway for the Central Asian countries located across the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan is reinforcing this position through continuous investment in modern transport, logistics, and multimodal infrastructure," Jabbarov said.
He added that one of the key elements of this program is TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity), namely the Zangazur Corridor.
"This project will not only strengthen the connection between mainland Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, but will also further enhance the country's role as a regional logistics and transit hub between Europe and Asia," he said.
The minister also noted that Azerbaijan is expanding its green energy corridors.
"Renewable energy has become one of the most important areas for future investment. Azerbaijan is advancing significant regional initiatives in this field through partnerships involving both international and local investors," Jabbarov added.
