A tree-planting campaign titled “Qəhrəmanlar Bağı” (Garden of Heroes) was held in Ismayilli through the joint initiative of the Red Hearts Foundation and PMD Group, with the support of the Executive Authority of the Ismayilli District. As part of the project, 189 trees were planted in honor of 189 heroes who lost their lives during the First and Second Karabakh Wars.
Launched in 2021 and implemented across various regions of the country, this initiative aims to preserve the memory of the martyrs while also contributing to environmental protection and the enrichment of Azerbaijan’s ecological landscape. In line with the philosophy of the project, each city and district plants as many trees as the number of martyrs it has given. This meaningful tradition was also continued in Ismayilli.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of the Red Hearts Foundation, Yusif Poladov, emphasized the spiritual significance of the initiative: “Every project dedicated to preserving the memory of our martyrs is a reflection of our national unity and our moral duty of remembrance. ‘Qəhrəmanlar Bağı’ is not merely a tree-planting campaign; it is a living legacy that embodies our respect for our heroes and will be passed on to future generations. Being the initiator of this project is both a great honor and a profound moral responsibility for us.”
The event brought together families of martyrs, veterans, members of the local community, as well as employees of Kapital Bank and the Red Hearts Foundation. The project once again demonstrates that the memory of the nation’s heroes will live on, and that every planted tree will serve as a lasting symbol of respect and gratitude for future generations.
Within the framework of the initiative implemented across different regions of the country, 31 “Qəhrəmanlar Bağı” memorial parks have already been established.
