Azerbaijan ranks first globally in terms of the number of countries to which it exports gas via pipelines, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the meeting of Heads of Government/Vice-Presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), SİA informs.
According to him, the number of countries receiving Azerbaijani gas has already reached 16.
"Azerbaijan's energy policy is not limited to hydrocarbon resources alone. Azerbaijan currently places special emphasis on the development of renewable energy sources by actively promoting the green energy agenda. The development of interregional ties by leveraging the renewable energy potential of Azerbaijan, as well as Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, is one of the key directions of our cooperation."
The prime minister added that in this regard, we welcome Kyrgyzstan's intention to join the cooperation on the export of green energy to Europe.
