Shahin Mustafayev: Volume of Chinese investments in Azerbaijan has exceeded $950 million

“Currently, more than 370 Chinese companies operate in Azerbaijan, and the total volume of China’s investments in the country has exceeded 950 million US dollars,” said Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev in an interview with China’s People’s Daily newspaper, APA reports.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the two sides have achieved significant results in such areas as green energy, smart power grids, electric buses, and industrial parks.

Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that cooperation between Azerbaijan and China continues to expand, and alongside traditional sectors such as trade, transport, energy, and agriculture, the two countries are actively advancing collaboration in cutting-edge areas including the digital economy, green energy, and artificial intelligence. He added that several Memorandums of Understanding have already been signed in the fields of investment in the digital economy, smart logistics, the Internet of Things, industrial digitalization, technological innovation, and personnel exchange.

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that Azerbaijan has identified digital transformation as a key direction for public administration, business development, and the modernization of public services: “We are interested in learning from China’s advanced experience in digital economy, smart city development, and green, low-carbon growth, and in further deepening the strategic cooperation between two countries.”
