The opening of the Zangezur corridor will increase the capacity of the Middle Corridor, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov at the first meeting of the heads of government and their deputies of the Turkic States Organization in Bishkek, SİA reports.
"Our cooperation in the field of transport is developing rapidly and makes a significant contribution to strengthening regional relations. The importance of the Middle Corridor, which passes through the territory of the Turkic states and plays a strategic role not only for our region, but also in terms of expanding global trade and transport relations, is growing.
In this context, the agreements recently reached in Washington on the unification of the main territory of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are of historical importance. The opening of the Zangezur corridor will not only provide new economic and transit opportunities for all regional states, but will also increase its capacity by integrating into the Middle Corridor," the Prime Minister emphasized.
