Women's salaries rose by 7.5%, and men's salaries by 8.5% in Azerbaijan

According to preliminary data, in 2024, the average monthly nominal salary of women increased by 7.5% year-on-year to 791.1 manats ($465.35), while the salary of men rose by 8.5% to 1,159 manats ($682.29), said Bahar Muradova, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, SİA informs.

Muradova made the statement at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis, while presenting information on the "Activities of the Executive Body Exercising Control over Ensuring Gender Equality in 2024."

Muradaova recalled that in 2023, the average monthly nominal wage for women was 735.7 manats ($432.76), and for men this figure was 1,069.3 manats ($629).

“Also, in 2024, 47.5% of those registered as unemployed were women and 52.5% were men. Of those employed, 34.4% were women and 65.6% were men. The figures show that statistical differences in this area are being optimized as a result of targeted measures taken by relevant agencies.”
